Nakia Melecio is President and CEO of Athlete’s First Sports Conditioning, Inc., which is a human performance center and athletic training and as well as simulated rehab training. This company was established in 1995 to provide a unique service for individuals in need of physical fitness and training. Mr. Melecio's objective is to provide quality care and treatment to individuals to return them to a normal functional level for employment, athletics, recreation, or activities of daily living. His philosophy is to employ treatment programs that are aggressive, functional and goal-oriented. Nakia not only believes in rehabilitation, but also is a strong advocate of education and injury prevention. His facilities provide the latest technology of equipment, trainers, clinicians and physicians to attain the goal of physical fitness to individuals in need. Mr. Melecio's goal is not only to provide quality rehabilitation services, but to also offer superior training to all athletes and world-class athletes.

  Independent Research Project Atlanta, GA
The project entails muscular dystrophy, metabolism and muscle wasting as well as degeneration of muscles. I am trying to determine the behavior of muscle fiber, tissue and at what rate does the muscle break down and is this the cause of muscular injuries while studying the affects of immobilization on connective-tissue and affects of remobilization on connective-tissue and neuromuscular influence on range of motion. I am finding that athletes as well as day to day people are having more physical injuries and it is not always because of the physical demand that they put on their bodies.

  Independent Research Project Atlanta, GA
The project entailed the study of the neurological affects and muscular breakdown of athletes while studying the biomechanics and speed at which an athlete moves while trying to determine was the muscles firing appropriately and how fast an athlete processed information of his/her physical demands of the sport they participated in while trying to educate and train them in the appropriate biomechanics in which their sport demands to bridge the gap between injury and recovery.

Primary function was to employ aggressive simulated rehab training, sports specific training and speed and strength development in MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA and collegiate players and worked closely with scouts and agents in evaluating defense and offensive players from scouting reports to help prepare players for the NFL draft.
